Visiting Classes

MAERC hosts a variety of college classes aimed at addressing themes of agro-ecology, grazing lands, and the importance of working agricultural landscapes, in particular Florida cattle ranchers, at providing a range of ecosystem services that benefit society.  MAERC has formal ties with the Agroecology Program at Florida International University, and has hosted several classes and teacher workshops covering agroecological issues in south Florida.  In 2007, MAERC hosted a university class, Ecology of Grazing Systems, a multi-dicsplinary, multi-institutional graduate class that travels to visit universities, ranches, farms, and other industries associated with grazing lands.  Arrangements for visiting classes can be made by contacting MAERC.
